City to host Nobel laureates at Quantum India summit

The State is poised for a significant milestone in India's scientific
landscape as the state prepares to host Nobel laureates Duncan Haldane and
David Gross for a special dialogue on 30 July. This interaction precedes the
inaugural Quantum India Bengaluru Summit, set for 31 July and 1 August.
State Science and Technology Minister NS Boseraju said, “Under the
visionary leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister
DK Shivakumar, our government is laying the groundwork to position the State as
India’s Quantum Capital. This dialogue with Nobel Laureates marks the beginning
of a long-term roadmap to integrate quantum innovation into State’s development
blueprint.”
The City, already recognised as the nation’s innovation hub, aims to
leverage quantum technologies for economic and social transformation. The
Minister noted that the discussions will involve Karnataka's top officials,
including Principal Secretaries of Industries, IT and BT, and Higher Education,
focusing on advancing quantum research and collaborations with global experts.
"This underscores the international significance of the event, which will bring together global and national leaders in quantum science, placing Karnataka at the epicentre of India’s quantum revolution," he added.
